We have over 10 years of architecture and design experience and 35 years of hands-on site and project management experience working in the Swansea and Gower area on both residential and commercial projects. Avalon Architecture offers a bespoke service helping you realise your project and release your properties full potential!

We have experience in delivering both traditional and contemporary projects and have a firm belief that traditional methods coupled with current building technologies lead to the most successful and interesting projects.

Sustainability is always a driver in our process. In residential and commercial architecture, sustainability is not just a trend but a necessity. By embracing eco-friendly materials, energy-efficient designs, and smart technologies, sustainable buildings minimise their environmental footprint while maximising comfort and usability for occupants.

Helen Flynn March, PGDip ARB

Having trained at the Manchester School of Architecture, Helen returned to her hometown of Swansea to work at Air Architecture. At the end of 2023 Helen decided to start her own practice, having gained a wealth of experience at Air. Helen completed her Part 3 Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture: Professional Practice at Cardiff University with a distinction, gaining the Stanley Cox Award for best overall performance on the course.

Helen has always always had a keen interest in making and alongside her work in practice, Helen produces papercut art pieces and commissions and has had her work displayed at the Ruthin Craft Centre, Found Gallery in Brecon, and in Craft in the Bay in Cardiff. She was commissioned to create work for Iaith ar Daith on S4C in 2020. As well as her work in practice, Helen has also worked as a design tutor for 1st and 2nd year BSc Architecture students at the UWSTD.

As a Welsh speaker Helen offers a bi-lingual service and is always happy to work with clients through the medium of Welsh. Incorporating Welsh into architectural practice demonstrates respect for the local culture and heritage, fostering a deeper connection with the community. Being able to communicate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders in their native language can enhance understanding and collaboration, leading to more successful projects.

Richard Lloyd, GGE (general good egg)

Richard has worked in the construction industry for over 35 years, as a carpenter, builder and project manager delivering a range of residential and commercial projects, with an emphasis on hand crafted timber work, high quality finish and attention to detail. Richard brings a wealth of technical knowledge and practical experience to Avalon Architecture to ensure that the technical aspects are considered from the very start of each project. He brings with him his vast network of trades and professional contacts which ensure smooth delivery of your project.
